Favourite Movie Quotes: V for Vendetta

Posted by clokey2k May 28, 2008 @ 9:22 pm

I was just inspired to read some brilliant quotes from films - none more so great than this introduction for the character ‘V’ played by Hugo Weaving in ‘V for Vendetta’.

But on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace sobriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona.

Voilà!Hugo Weaving as V

In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate.

This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished.

However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

[carves V into poster on wall]

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

[giggles]

Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Fantastic use of words - ‘V’ words instead of ‘F’ words. Good film - it’s gotta be in my Top Ten Movies.

CGI - is it real?

I play alot of Halo 3 (when I can), this amongst other games are not only good to play - they are good to look at.

Games are becoming monumentally big to make, soon rivalling the film industry for budget and resources. Here are a few screenshots from games that I play which without close inspection look relatively real! Imagine the work that would of gone into this and how it can compare to Pixar’s Toy Story of many years ago!

These images are rendered in realtime within the game, whereas CGI in films can take hours to render individual frames.

It’s dead…

After all that pain and anguish on Saturday - It’s dead…

My car, whilst driving through a puddle, did exactly as the French once did… It gave up…

It may never move again, the engine has seized.

I would of taken a picture of my car, stationary, in a big puddle, to prove how much of an Idiot I was - but there was no camera of any reputable source to hand (Check the Mobile Phone post earlier). My car was not designed for puddles (unlike vehicles like this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qr8eEWyKQHM http://youtube.com/watch?v=g7hDJbEHJWk driven by MTM4×4)

Dad’s not happy :-(

Mum isn’t too appealed :-(

I’m gutted :-(

It is becoming a bad week… How is yours going??

Mobile Phones

Mine died on Saturday, it was dropped. It had a technicolour fit, and then in true film style faded to black.

All of it’s wonderful features still work:

  • It makes/receives phone calls;
  • It would run any of its Symbian Applications;
  • It would output its display to a TV (this is useful…)
  • It would still synchronize contacts and content to my PC (VERY USEFUL)

But I was unable to view any of these features on its ‘dead’ screen.

So because walking around with a TV or a Laptop is not convenient for answering calls I have handed it to Vodafone for repair. In fact I have just received an SMS to advise me that they are about to commence repair now - thank you Vodafone.

I’m not too keen on the courtesy phone they have provided me - it really isn’t great - so it’s staying in its box. I’ll just use one of the phones knocking about at home.

So until I receive my phone back I wont be so snap happy and taking pictures :-(

Then again at least I don’t have an over-hyped iPhone!! It lacks some very important features, but what it doesdo is done very well - smooth; Here is one of the many wish lists I have seen for the next iPhone: http://powazek.com/posts/947 - If all of those were included then I may well be tempted (Shame about the O2 contract requirement though)
